It all started when my friends of the magazine Yorokobu asked me the colaboration for the cover of December 2012. Immediatly I said yes and started to draw the sketch, at the begining the idea was simple, write the word "Yorokobu" in an attractive way, but after several hours trying different types of calligraphy and finding the right one, I decided to give an extra touch and add an illustration. I wanted to remember the ancient calligraphers who created beautiful texts based on a pen and ink. So this is how the idea of this cover was created.
Chalk is not my usual tool, but once brought to the board, the thing was easier. After completing the work on the wall it came to my mind that the work wasn´t totally complete so I decided to digitalize it and take all the time required to place as much details as I desired; and the longest proces started vector after vector ... The rest of the story is told by the pictures.
I spent about 7 hours in the sketch, about 8 hours passing it to the blackboard-wall and about 45 hours digitalizing.

Todo comenzó cuando los amigos de la revista Yorokobu me pidieron la colaborción para realizar la portada del mes de diciembre 2012. Inmeditamente dije que si y me puse a elaborar el boceto; la idea en principio era sencilla, escribir la palabra "Yorokobu" de una forma atractiva, pero despúes de varias horas probando distintos tipos de caligráfia y dar con la adecuada, decidí darle un toque extra y añadir una ilustración. Quería recordar a los antiguos calígrafos que creaban bellos textos partiendo de una pluma y un bote de tinta. Así surgió la idea de esta portada.
La tiza no es mi herramienta habitual pero, una vez llevadas las retículas a la pizarra para volcar ahí el boceto, la cosa no fue difíci. Luego de culminar el trabajo en la pared me quedó la espina de llevarlo a digital y poder tomarme todo el tiempo requerido para colocar cuanto detalle deseara y es alli cuando comienzo a hacer vector tras vector... Dediqué unas 7 horas al boceto, unas 8 horas a trasladarlo a la "pared-pizarra” y unas 45 horas para la digitalizacion.
